These two ROCKED this moody and dark ballet shoot. I gave this one a “step-up” feel (if you’ve ever seen the movie)
Future Channing Tatum?
She herself is a Lincoln-based photographer. She rocks both ends of the camera if you ask me!
I needed some inspiration and the inner artist in me was telling me to take it to the water for this one! We kept the look simple with long lashes and white to really contrast and “show-off” the texture of the water. I mixed it up with some still portraits and some movement in these shots.
Thank you to Ella for being a trooper during this stylized shoot!
In the mountains of Durango, CO lies a beautiful Valley with snowfall and Alpacas. Yes, I said it, Alpacas.
Angela is one of my future brides. She invited me out to Durango a couple of weekends ago to meet her best friends and photograph this beautiful stylized bridal snow shoot.
As the bride to be resides in Los Angeles, CA, she has never seen a real snowfall, and Durango offered just that. Yes, I cried watching her dance in it as it fell. One of those "It's the simple things in Life" moments. Here in Nebraska, snow is something we despise after the first snowfall, so seeing a human light up at its falling was something else....beautiful.
Meet my stylized bride Wendolyn.
These photographs are the product of my annual stylized wedding shoot with Blush Bridal in Lincoln, NE. I designed and imaged everything, picked my models, location, and found out last minute add-ins are the best way to top off a purrrfect photoshoot.
Location: So, it just so happens that I met a new friend at a house party last year (don't judge me). Thanks to social media and following each other on Instagram, I fell in love with her little "sunroom" she has in her own home. She would post little pictures to her gram, and I thought it would be the perfect location to shoot. With the natural lighting and blush pink/white accents, it was absolute perfection. I didn't know what I was getting myself into until I walked in.
Dress/Headpeice: Blush Bridal in Lincoln, NE supplied me with dresses and gold jewelry from their collections at the store to bring this bridal shoot together. The gowns are designed by Lillian West, and the Hairvine (headpiece) is a Martino - J- Picone. If you caught that there was a veil under that brown hat (which I supplied out of my closet) the designer is Jennifer Leigh Veil Couture.
Model/Hair Stylist/Makeup Artist: My model, like I mentioned, is Wendolyn. I met her at a fashion show last year we both walked In for Charity. She's a hoot! I loved working with her and had to get her back in for a shoot. Here It is! My hair stylist for the shoot I met at a wedding last year in Omaha. I called her up and she volunteered to drive down to Lincoln and put some light curls and golden tones on Wendolyn. The whole "look" came together beautifully.
Bouquet : Last but certainly not least, the bouquet, was designed by Natalie at IBloom in Lincoln, NE. Her talent blows me away every time! She has designed countless bouquets for weddings I have photographed. I have to thank her for donating the flowers to the shoot!
OHHHH and I cannot forget PRINCE. The Cat. We showed up at his house, so of course I am going to make him model for me...and that he did. (I didn't know he lived there) Sweet last minute surprise.
Meet Kenzie and Kate.
I met Kenzie randomly at a house party (yes I said it, a house party) about a year ago. We instantly clicked and of course, as these days work, we followed each other on social media and the rest is history. We have similar taste in style and as I was searching for the perfect models for this stylized hair shoot, I knew I wanted her to be in for this specific shoot. As I was searching for another model, her friend Kate was another perfect fit, so here we are....photos to prove it.
Long story short, my hair stylist Zoe Zgud is pretty much the best there is. We met randomly about 3 years ago on Craigslist as she was looking for a photographer for her first stylized shoot. I responded to the message as I was just starting out in the business. (It was fate because I have never since done that.)
Zoe has worked at New Orleans Fashion week and recently was a hair stylist for the 2018 New York Fashion week. She rocks.
As artists, we have highs and lows in creativity modes. On her way home from New York this year, Zoe needed some inspiration and reached out to me to set up a shoot. So, we did a trade. She chopped my hair and I created this stylized shoot for her. I told the girls what kind of aesthetic I was looking for in clothing (vintage rugged) and Zoe went ahead and matched the hair to the wardrobe. IT WORKED.
Makeup, photography, locations and clothing : Styled by yours truly.
Hair and Makeup : Zoe Zgud
Models: Kate Meyer, Makenzie Reynoldson
She's one of my super-talented Graphic Design friends from College. She recently started her own freelance company out in Sidney, NE, and was in need of some headshots and inspiration. We collaborated as artists recently at my studio in Lincoln, and she left inspired, and so did I.
