They invited me into their home to shoot an In-home session. These two have been renovating and flipping this home for WEEKS, and wanted to do a shoot to celebrate their accomplishments. The home was ADORABLE.
The big surprise happened at the end of the session when Greyson proposed to Molly. He had contacted me awhile ago about his plan to propose and I was SO excited to be there for this big moment. I only cried a little….
Melinda + Ryan
Meet Melinda and Ryan.
It all started at Doane College with Melinda and I. We are sorority sisters and I am SO honored to be her engagement/wedding photographer this year.
We took it to the Sandhills 2 weeks ago to shoot these moody engagements. The day was dreary, but. these two sure weren’t! Nebraska National Forest had A LOT to offer with sand and cactus plants. (Yes, we have them in Nebraska). The drive out West was a ways from Lincoln, but totally worth the drive.
We drove down roads getting lost in the Forest. All of a sudden, we came upon a green pasture in the Valley between the Forest walls complete with a Windmill. They dance around and I was running in circles capturing all of their happiness..
Congrats to Melinda and Ryan. Stay close, because their wedding will be posted this July!
Kylie and Joe : Lifestyle Session
Meet Kylie, Joe, and their French Bulldog Pops.
They invited me into their Omaha, NE apartment to photograph these intimate in-home shots with them and their dog. At first, Pops barked at the camera but it didn't take him long to become the center of attention. He did SO well posing for me!
Kylie had the brilliant idea to get his attention by chewing bubble gum. His favorite hobby is popping the bubbles she makes, so of course I had to get the perfect shot of that happening. No, that wasn't the inspiration for his name. He resembles an old man, so of course "Pops" is fitting.
In Omaha, a locally famous plant nursery (Mulhalls) was our last stop for these engagement photos. The floral on Kylie's dress mixed with the greens of the plants and colorful cacti made the session complete.
Joe and Kylie have a September 2018 wedding planned. Stay tuned for their wedding album hitting the page this Fall!
Lauren and Britton
Meet Lauren and Britton.
They invited me out to Western Nebraska to photograph their engagement session in their ski resort themed "Tiny house." The groom-to-be's mother decorated the entire little set and of course I was instantly in love.
Lauren and I were art majors together in college so when she asked me to photograph their engagements and their wedding in 2018, I was ecstatic. She continues to do ceramic art here in Nebraska and has a major talent for it.
This shoot was brought to life with their Pomski Mika. She fit the theme and colors perfectly. The couple dressed warm and "Winter" to bring together the entire theme of the session. Snow boots, hats, sweaters and hot cocoa were used to make this shoot feel cold and cozy all at once.
GOLDEN MOMENT: The parents of the groom invited me in for hot chocolate after the shoot and we talked Wedding. Their family was so inviting and incredibly nice. I am so thrilled to be there for their special day this year.
Toni and Mo
Meet Toni and Mo.
They fell in love back in the day and are tying the knot in September 2018. Yes, I am their wedding photographer and YES I am thrilled.
The style of this shoot is a bit darker with black, bricks, and a floral maxi worn by Toni to bring this shoot together. We used coffee shops in Lincoln, NE as our studios for a day filled with art and earthy colors. During the shoot, I had them actually sit and talk and be themselves over a cup (or 3) of coffee. So, this is them being them. JUST the way I like it.
Kylie and Joe
Meet Kylie and Joe.
This engagement session was styled completely to their taste. We used Home and Closet located in Lincoln, NE as a studio for an afternoon and ended up in a "woodsy" setting for the rest. Kylie has always had a vintage boho style, so Home and Closet really catered to that.
Can we talk about her engagement ring though? Joe did work on that one! The ring fit perfectly in the setting with a cactus as a prop for it's detail debut. I was stunned by how unique and beautiful it was!
String lights, a yarn bohemian lantern hung by a tree, and golden browns tied the rest of the session together to make their style come alive!
Taylor and Adam
Meet Taylor and Adam.
We drove around Kansas City, Missouri one evening last Fall to capture these beautiful shots. The sun made all the difference as we caught golden hour. Graffiti, old train cars, and a city view made for a perfect couple's session. Fun fact: We were rushing to find a rooftop or parking garage in downtown KC on a Friday night. Light was getting dimmer as the sun was setting so we finally parked and ask a jogger on the street where to go. Fortunately, he lived in the apartment building just around the corner that we needed key access into. (It was FANCY). He guided us to the 17th floor where a balcony stood with an overlook to the city. Caught the last bit of sun and called it a day. As a photographer, you always want the best light and it goes fast, so talk about luck! We did it!
Angela & Chase
This Los Angeles based Engagement session is one of my favorites to date. The couple wanted a session that showed their style and personalities, so an in-home lifestyle session was made. We barbecued, cuddled their two house cats, and drove around their mint green Ford truck all in an afternoon.
